Hudson's 6th b-day

Wow- Can Hudson already be 6.  It doesn't seem possible.  Time really does fly by.  This year he really wanted a rabbit.  We were able to talk him into hermit crabs instead.  So far, they are good.  I think he wishes he could play with them a bit more but they are really shy right now.  I think in time they won't be as shy.  One is more outgoing than the other 2.  So on his big day, we headed to the store to get his pet, then out to eat for dinner, followed by cake.  Then the Saturday after his b-day we headed to the Toledo Science center for a fun day.

Snowy Fun

What a great day to build a snowman.  The kids had a blast.

Hudson's 6th birthday- friend party

Today we celebrated Hudson's 6th birthday with his friends.  He had 7 friends over.  We played a few games that Hudson came up with- musical chairs, leapfrog jumping contest, snowball race, and bingo.  Hudson cried every time he lost at a game.  I had to talk to him several times about behaving while friends were over b/c none of his friends came to his party to watch him cry.  We also made a cute penguin craft.  Hudson did have a great time.  The kids did get a little rough in the basement and I had to go down and talk to them about not playing like manics.  They were great after that.  Here are a couple of pics from the party.  We are going to celebrate his half birthday in the summer and do a joint party with Paislee for family.

Thanksgiving and SANTA!!!

What a great Thanksgiving.  Thursday we headed to Keli's to play with Lola and Nora.  Jesse and Ashley were there too.  The kids had so much fun playing.  Then we headed home around 4.  The family situation between Julie and Vern is still not good and they have had no contact with us since last year so we decided it was best to eat together as a family at home instead of eating at Keli's.  Dinner was delish.  I put the turkey breast in the crockpot before we left for church in the morning and when we got home it was all done.  It almost had a smokey flavor to it.  But it was very moist and tender.  Of course we had all the fixins'- mashed potatoes, broccoli, corn, good bread, stuffing, and dessert- pumpkin roll, homemade apple pie, turkey cut out cookies and rice krispies.  Friday- we did some shopping and got all our presents bought.  Then decorated for Christmas and had a family movie night watching Planes.  Saturday- we headed to the Mares' for Thanksgiving part 2.  We headed to CF and not only celebrated Thanksgiving but Todd and Zack got to watch the Buckeyes win, the cousins got the play, and we celebrated Grandma Kathy's 60th b-day.  We made her a little book about "60 reasons why we love Grandma Kathy"  it was a hit.  Then after dinner we headed to see Santa.  What a great day.
