Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was a little different this year.  On Wednesday, Logan had off so we headed to the Akron Zoo.  The weather was perfect.  Not crowded at all and we were able to play for a bit in the sunshine and road the merry go round.  I created a scavenger hunt for Logan and Hudson at the zoo and since they completed it we stopped for ice cream on the way home.  Just a little something different since we go to the zoo all the time.  Then we had dinner and a movie night.  We watched BRAVE.  We all loved it.  Very cute movie.  Then on Thanksgiving, the plan was for all of us to go to church.  Of course we were running late and then I got angry and didn't want to go to church late ( I really don't like being late) so Todd took Logan, Hudson, and Campbell and then came back to pick me up and then we headed to his sister's.  We got there early to play and catch up. We left Keli's around 2ish.  It was nice, the cousins got to play and we were able to see Jesse, Ashley and Nora too.  Then we headed home.  Watched the parade that we had dvr'd and then had our dinner- turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, corn, rolls, pumpkin roll and apple pie.  When dinner was done we cleaned up and headed to the bowling alley.  We bowled a game and the kids had so much fun.  Paislee was super exhausted after a fun filled day.  Then Friday, we headed to a few stores.  Nothing crazy and then put up our tree.  Saturday we headed to the Mares' for Thanksgiving.  Then our annual trip to see Santa.  That will be in the next post.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

almost turkey time. . .

Thanksgiving is almost here. . . what have you been up to???  We are busy as usual.  I finally got everyone's scrapbooks up to date.  Just in time for the holidays.  It took forever but I feel good that it is done.  This past week I had to do stuff for Logan's school on Monday for staff appreciation.  I made 150 chocolate covered pretzels for the teachers/support staff and bus drivers along with a breakfast of muffins, breads 2 fruit platters and juices.  We were able to deliver it to school at 8:30 am and then the kiddos helped me pass out the pretzels.  Tuesday- busy as ever, lots of driving around.  drop off Logan, drop of Hudson, go home, go to Logan's school at 10:30 to help out, come home, leave to go pick up Hudson, lunch, nap, leave to go pick up Logan. T/Th are very choppy days.We are just in and out of the house about a million times.  Wednesday we had PSR afterschool, Thursday I hosted our playgroup afterschool about 7 kiddos over plus mine, Friday, we had a playdate with a family from Huntington.  She has 3 kids and they all played very nicely together.  Saturday, was Melissa's wedding shower and then we headed to Logan's football banquet.  Busy but fun.  Today is pumpkin roll day.  I plan on making about 6- a few for Thanksgiving, 2 for the teachers for b-day treat that I am in charge of along with brownies and 3 pies, and then I will save one for Christmas.  They freeze really well.  Tomorrow I have to deliver the b-day treat at Logan's school, then having dinner with friends. Tuesday Hudson has a Thanksgiving feast at his school and Logan will be making his frist reconciliation.  Wednesday is pretty low key.  Logan has off.  Then Thanksgiving this year will be a bit different.  Lots of family drama going on so we are staying clear of it.  We will visit for a bit with Todd's fam then come back and do our own Thanksgiving here. . . perhaps even go bowling in the evening.  Friday, we will go out shopping for a bit.  I have a few gift cards I want to use at Toys r us.  Most of the shopping is already done.  Then we will decorate for Christmas.  Saturday is our annual trip to see SANTA!!!  Everyone is excited for that.  Pic for that will be next week:)  Here are some pics from the last week.

November already

November already. . . This month is just flying by.  Fall sports are finally done.  We will trying out basketball this year through the Medina Rec.  Logan had a mini tryout.  They did dribbling, passing and shooting.  I like this because they do it so they don't stack the teams unknowingly.  Logan was ready to play and it was a very quick process.  He was kinda bummed when he was done because he wanted to practice more.  Medina also has a very nice rec center and I think we will take the boys swimming there a few times over the winter.  So much better than the Brunswick rec.  With sports being done we have begun to have a few playdates again.  It is nice to not be so rushed afterschool.  Todd starts indoor this week on Tuesday nights.  I still have book club once a month and I help out at Logan's school on Tuesday mornings and teach his PSR class. He is making his reconciliation next week. Along with PTO stuff, in which I am the head of membership, service projects and the cooresponding secretary, (which means that I take care of all teacher b-days, staff appreciation days, and conference night dinners) we are still pretty busy.  Todd has been working later on most nights on big projects and First Energy has been laying off lots of employees but luckily Todd has been safe:)

Last week we took advantage of election day, Logan and Hudson had off and headed to Kalahari.  It was a great time as always.  Then this past weekend the weather was beautiful and we all headed to the zoo.  Then we headed to see Jesse, Ashley and Nora's new house.  It is terrific.  They will make many wonderful memories there.  We also celebrated Great Grandpa Milt's 80th birthday.  We were unable to attend the family celebration but wanted to help him celebrate so we had them over for cake and ice cream along with Jesse, Ashley and Nora.

This week we all have dentist appt and am hoping we are all still members of the no cavity club.  Here are a few pics from the beginning of the month.  I have more to update and to write about what we have been doing but Paislee calls (in the form of screaming) so I have to finish up.
